Audition Information

Auditioners will be seen on a first come basis.  Please bring a headshot (and resume) if you have one.  If not, we will take a Polaroid photo.  Please be prepared to stay as long as needed to insure that you have completed the audition.  We will be as efficient as possible, but you may have some waiting time. You will be asked to do the following:

Musical Audition:  Please perform songs from WEST SIDE STORY.  We suggest the following songs:  Tony: SomethingÕs Coming and Maria; Maria: I Have a Love and I Feel Pretty; Anita: A Boy Like That and America; Riff: Cool; Bernardo/Sharks/Jets: The Jet Song; Girls: America.  Audition music will be available in the Concord libraries as of December 1, 2007.  Because of time considerations, we may not be able to listen to entire pieces.

Acting Audition:  Perform a one to two-minute monologue reflecting any of the emotional content in the show.  At call backs auditioners will be asked to read from the script and perhaps participate in improvisations.  Perusal scripts will be available in the Concord libraries as of December 1, 2007.

Dance Audition:  Learn and perform two short dance routines of differing tempos.

Character Descriptions

NOTE:  Those auditioning for the four adult roles will only be asked to do the Acting Audition.
